There may still be some snow on the ground but we're desperate for a hike as the conditions haven't been great for snowshoeing for several days. We chose to hike up Battle Bluff as it is reasonably low elevation relative to some hikes and not overly long at 2.4 km each way. It was 6C when we started out. The trail had roughly a 50/50 mix of snow and bare with some compact snow/ice in spots. For coming down we put on ice cleats which was very helpful. No falls occurred although Rena sat down for a short slide on our way down from the cairn at the top. One picture below shows Rena adding a rock to the cairn.
