Lots of snow fell on Saturday so we headed up Lac le Jeune road from Kamloops south bound to Dogwood Marsh which is the unmarked pullout just before McConnell Lake. Donned our snow shoes, backpack with snack and hot tea, grabbed our downhill ski poles and set out on the trails down the hill and across the marsh. We usually go up the hill to the logging road which we did this time as it was our first outing of the year. Went south on this road then took a trail back in the direction of the marshes. There's lots of trails so tried a new one through the trees. Found a clearing with a couple of stumps - perfect for tea and Mars bars. Total time 1.5 hours, not tough but a good warm up for future adventures.
