In the past we've noticed a sign that indicates a route to 'Walloper Lake FSR' when snowshoeing around Lodgepole Lake so today we gave it a try. Weather was reasonable at -6C and sunny with cloudy periods. The trail headed primarily south through some replanted tree areas, then down into and along a ravine. It path was clearly marked with snowmobile tracks and coloured surveyor's tape. There were lots of Bobcat and Hare tracks in the path as we went through the replanted areas. Along the bottom of the ravine there were many downed trees that had been cut to keep the path clear (thanks to whoever, it made it easy walking). We went as far as we could this afternoon, which was about halfway between Lodepole Lake and Walloper Lake according to Google Maps. It would be interesting to take this path all the way to Walloper Lake in the summer. A nice trip in the snow; 1 hour 45 minutes in all.
