Last fall we walked the Okanagan Rail Trail from Vernon to Kekuli Bay Provincial Park (20km return) along beautiful blue/green Kalamalka Lake, noting that it would be fun to start from the Oyama end some time. Yesterday we completed a 20km walk from Oyama to Kekuli. No rain but threatening clouds along side the lake and south east of Oyama. We parked along the beach in Oyama and headed out. We were trying out new footwear in preparation for walking the Portugese Camino in the fall. Rena bought Salomon lighweight hiking boots and Denny bought Saucony trail runners - no blisters! Along the trail there were many plants that are at least 2 weeks farther into Spring than we are in the Valleyview community of Kamloops. We ate a packed lunch at Kekuli where many people were camping, boating or launching a bike ride. It was interesting to see some incredible beachfront properties along the shore at the Oyama end, more so than at the Vernon end last fall, but the more natural setting is the main attraction. A great walk or bike ride.

So clear and can see some of the green in the lake
