We'd seen that Inks Lake (along Lac le Jeune road and close to Kamloops) is very popular right now for skating and pond hockey, plus the long blades club has put in a large skating oval. It's been awhile, but we thought we'd don the blades for a few trips around a cleared area on our way to Lodgepole Lake for a campfire. The warmer weather (-5C at Inks Lake) is conducive to both activities. Well, the skating legs aren't what they used to be so it was a short duration adventure but well worth the while. After a couple of loops, Denny figured out where the smoother ice was and took advantage of it. Didn't make the trek to the large oval - maybe another time after more practice at an arena.

The campfire was great - hot chocolate (please note the vintage 1940's thermos!), weenie roast, Whiskey Jack visitor. Ahhhhhh...
