This 4km trail is a real beauty especially at this time of year when the creek is running full and is Rena's favourite hike. Bear Creek runs from Skmana Lake to Adams River in the Shuswap area. Over a hundred years ago, a flume was built to carry logs down from the lake to the river. It ran 11 miles long through the wilderness and water carrying logs reached speeds of 70 kph when in service. Long since decayed, a replica of the flume contruction is pictured. To find Tsutswecw Flume Trails, head east on Highway 1 towards Chase, then take Squilax-Anglemont Road exit on the right and begin heading towards Celista. Take Holding Road to the left (fork like intersection) and the trail head parking is roughly 5 km up Holding Road.

This is a well maintained wide single track trail that is steep enough to get your heart rate up with benches to rest on along the way. It is well worth the effort.
